Vaccines

This Sunday Argentina exceeded

14 million vaccines applied

against covid-19 since the start of the immunization plan, in the last days of 2020.

According to official data, reported in the Public Vaccination Monitor, 11,071,365 received at least one dose, of which 3,021,128 already have the two applications that complete the scheme.

So far, the country has received

18,450,150 doses

of the different vaccines being applied: Sputnik V, AstraZeneca (including the Indian version, Covishield) and Sinopharm.

This Monday another

900,000 doses of AstraZeneca

were expected to arrive

, as a result of the agreement with Mexico, but the Government reported that the operation was "rescheduled by the laboratory for the end of the week as a result of an operational observation."

Meanwhile, in the early hours of Monday another Aerolineas Argentina flight will leave that will bring

more Sputnik V vaccines.

Minister Carla Vizzotti had anticipated that this week there will be 100,000 of component 1 and 400,000 doses of 2.

But in addition, this plane will bring

the active principle

for the

first time

so that the vaccine that is developed by the Gamaleya Institute at the Richmond Laboratory in Argentina begins to be packaged in the country.

The second wave

Argentina is today the third country with the highest number of new infections in the world.

In the last 7 days - between Sunday, May 30 and Saturday, June 5 - the average per day was

29,537

.

This figure is only surpassed by India and Brazil.

When looking at the incidence with respect to the population, the country is fifth globally, with

653 infected daily

per million inhabitants.

The four that exceed it (Seychelles, Maldives, Bahrain and Uruguay) have less than 4 million inhabitants, so their rates soared more before the new outbreak.

The data of new deaths are also worrying.

Argentina is now the fourth country with the most fatal cases per day with an average of

537

(taking the data from the last week).

It is only surpassed by India, Brazil, Mexico and the United States.
