(ANSA) - FLORENCE, 06 JUN - From Florence to Ravenna in the sign of Dante. The maiden voyage of the historic train dedicated to Dante Alighieri has just left the Florentine station of Santa Maria Novella, with the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini on board, on the 700th anniversary of his death. The convoy, pulled by a steam engine, will travel along the historic Faenza railway line with the Apennine pass, connecting the city that was the birthplace of the Supreme Poet with the one that hosts his mortal remains. The train makes an extraordinary stop in Marradi (Florence) to attend the concert of the 'LuigiCherubini' Orchestra conducted by Maestro Riccardo Muti, on the occasion of the opening of the historic academic theater of the Animosi, built between the end of the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth century .
Then the convoy will leave for Ravenna.
On board also the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella and the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani. Also present are the city authorities and the director of the Uffizi EikeSchmidt. (HANDLE).
