(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 06 - Winning debut at the box office Usaper The Conjuring - By order of the devil: the seventh film of the greatest horror franchise in history, by Warner Bros, with Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson directed by Michael Chaves (also available on Hbo Max at no additional cost), grossed $ 24 million, ousting A Quiet Place II, the sequel to A Quiet Place, which had a record opening in pandemic times with 57 million in the long Memorial Day weekend. The Paramount horror, directed by John Krasinski, took home another $ 19.5 million over the weekend, reaching $ 88 million in the North American market and $ 138 million globally.
In third place was Disney's Cruella, with 11.2 million dollars on the second weekend of release. The Caricadei 101 prequel, starring Emma Stone as the villain who kidnaps puppies, is also available to rent on Disney +.
Abroad, Cruella raked in another 18.6 million from 36 markets, for a global total of $ 87.1 million.
