The most awaited feature by WhatsApp users is in the pipeline.

During an interview with WABetaInfo, Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Facebook who controls the messaging app, confirmed that by the end of the summer it will be possible to configure the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices, up to a maximum of four. .

The update will be launched first in beta and then to the public. In addition to this novelty, the CEO has anticipated two other additions: Disappearing Mode and View Once, both to be released in a couple of months. With the first, the messages received and sent will be deleted after a period of time to choose between 24 hours or 7 days. With View Once, on the other hand, after a user has viewed the multimedia contents in a chat, they will disappear automatically and permanently.

Zuckerberg confirmed to WABetaInfo that multi-device support will not compromise end-to-end encryption, which currently protects messages between two communicating devices, via a key consisting of a common and a unique part, present on the sending smartphone and on the receiving one. "It has been a great technical challenge to get messages and content to sync properly across all configured devices, even when the phone's battery runs low, but we have solved this problem and can't wait to roll out the update." For some time, WhatsApp's main competitor, Telegram, already allows you to set up the same account on multiple phones or tablets, as well as send self-destructing chat messages.
