Special envoy to Chaumont-sur-Loire

The return to Chaumont-sur-Loire is the assurance of sunny days. In this castle, where time has stood still. In its high galleries and in its low gallery, as in the sumptuous 32-hectare park between Amboise and Blois, art has found its true nature. While the International Garden Festival is taking place, which attracts its green tourism, the 2021 Art Season spreads its contemporary finds on the estate, owned by the Center-Val de Loire region since 2008, which its director, Chantal Colleu-Dumond , transforms, year after year, into an “artistic utopia”. Return to the cathedral of beams and fire bells Kounellis, to the stained glass windows by Sarkis in the attic, to the textile sculptures of Sheila Hicks in the main staircase of the castle, to the gold drapes of El Anatsui, to the Mediterranean vitality scored by Miquel Barcelo.
