(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JUN 07 - The EU Council today adopted the regulation establishing the Just Transition Fund of 17.5 billion euros.
The fund is part of the EU mechanism dedicated to European regions and territories further back in the ecological transition.
The total amount of 17.5 billion (at 2018 prices) is the sum of 7.5 billion available from the EU budget 2021-2027 and 10 billion from the recovery fund (Next Generation EU) for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023. For Italy, the resources from the framework amounted to a total of 937 million.
