(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 05 - During the celebration of the 207th annual foundation of the Arma deiCarabinieri today, the President of the Council of Ministers, Mario Draghi presented the Flag of the Carabinieri with the Gold Medal to the Civil Merit with this motivation: "Faithful guardian of the rights guaranteed by the Constitution, the Arma deiCarabinieri, through the Command for the Protection of Labor, with an exceptional sense of self-denial, offered proof of extraordinary commitment and admirable dedication in guaranteeing compliance with the enormous measures to safeguard relationships employment, work performance and safety in the workplace.

Engaged in complex control and investigative activities, the Department achieved results of absolute importance in contrasting the illicit exploitation of workers and the odious phenomenon of trafficking in human beings. The peculiar professional skills matured over time and the refined intervention methods allowed the Department to establish itself abroad as an authoritative model of reference, gaining the admiration of public opinion, of the highest national Authorities and of international organizations everywhere. Territorionational and foreign, 1926 - 2020 ". A very important recognition that makes the weapon proud, which already in 1926 had created a special Special Department - the first of all - to protect the dignity and safety of work.the widow of deputy brigadier Mario Cerciello Rega, assassinated in Rome in July 2019, received from the Ministry of the Interior, in the presence of the Minister of Defense, the Gold Medal for Civil Valor, paid to the memory of the military. Subsequently, the Minister of Defense delivered the Silver Medal to the value of the weapon to Lt. Massimo Andreozzi for the determination and courage shown during an intervention aimed at making a man who wanted to kill himself in Mira (VE) desist in July 2020. Delivered also the Annual Award to six Station Commanders, to underline the crucial role that these realities, widespread throughout Italy, play in favor of citizens. Today also marks World Environment Day, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1971.Due to the circumstances and to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the unification of Italy, a spectacular and original concert by the Arma Music Band was organized on the plain of Castelluccio di Norcia.
