Hessian SPD leader receives another »NSU 2.0« threatening letter

The Hessian SPD leader Nancy Faeser has again received a threatening letter signed "NSU 2.0".

The letter was received a few days ago in your constituency office, said an SPD spokesman in Wiesbaden.

The letter essentially consisted of the line "NSU 2.0" and the international symbol for biological hazard (biohazard).

He had been handed over to the State Criminal Police Office.

There had previously been media reports about the incident.

Faeser confirmed the facts on Twitter and was combative.

"I will never be intimidated by this and will continue to fight right-wing extremism with all my might," she wrote.

At the beginning of May, the alleged perpetrator of the series of right-wing extremist threatening letters "NSU 2.0" was arrested.

According to the investigators, the man is under urgent suspicion of having sent a series of threatening letters with inciting, insulting and threatening content nationwide since August 2018 under the synonym "NSU 2.0".

The recipients were predominantly public figures, especially from the media world and politics, including members of the Hessian state parliament and the Bundestag.

The SPD politician had already received a letter signed "NSU 2.0" at the end of May.

The letter contained white powder and had arrived at Faeser's constituency office in Hofheim am Taunus.

According to the LKA, the white substance turned out to be harmless.

The state security started investigations.
