(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 09 - "On the day when Italy throws down the flag after 20 years of mission in Herat, we remember the sacrifice of those who defended with honor and sometimes with life these territories, which fell prey to terrorism and Furious Taliban destroyer. Today we can proudly reaffirm that the mission in Afghanistan - the longest military operation in which Italy has ever taken part - is not in vain. 53 dead and 651 wounded, people who have held up the name of the Italy. Our thoughts go to all those soldiers, true Italian professionals and patriots - women and men in uniform - who defend our borders and preside over the territories where wars, violence, exploitation, coercion rage, to bring peace and freedom everywhere ". This is what Fabio Rampelli declares in a note, vice president of the Chamber and deputy of Fdi. (HANDLE).
