Eusebio Di Francesco is the new coach of Hellas Verona.
This was announced by the Gialloblù club, welcoming the coach who collects the legacy of Ivan Juric, who moved to Turin.
The 51-year-old coach from Pescara, who has 254 benches in Serie A and who has gained significant experience in the two top European club competitions such as the Europa League (with Sassuolo) and the Champions League (with Roma), has signed with Hellas Verona FC a two-year contract, i.e. until 30 June 2023.
After a career as a footballer in which the Scudetto won with Roma in 2001 and 13 appearances with a goal in the national team stand out, Di Francesco began his coaching career in the summer of 2008 with Virtus Lanciano, in Serie C. To follow Pescara (Serie C and B), Lecce (A), Sassuolo (B and A), Rome (A), Sampdoria (A) and Cagliari (A).
"Among his main successes as a coach - Hellas Verona recalls - we must mention, in chronological order, the promotion to B with Pescara, winning the playoffs of C in the 2009-2010 season, the promotion to A, the first in the history of the club, at the helm of Sassuolo, ranking first in the 2012-2013 B championship, the sixth position, again with Sassuolo, in the 2015-2016 Serie A with a lot of qualification, unprecedented for the neroverdi, in the Europa League, third place with Roma in Serie A 2017-2018, a season in which Di Francesco led the Capitoline team to the Champions League semifinal against Liverpool, after eliminating Barcelona in the quarterfinals.
