A day after the 4 million infections were exceeded since the start of the pandemic, the Government confirmed
29,757 new cases
and another
607 deaths
from coronavirus in Argentina.
These are figures reported in the last 24 hours by the provinces to the national system and were published this afternoon by the Ministry of Health in its usual daily part.
This Wednesday a new record of occupation of intensive therapies was reached nationwide: it is at
79.3%
for all pathologies.
In the AMBA it is at 77.2%.
Currently there are 346,361 patients with diagnosed disease in the country, of which 7,769 are admitted to ICU.
A figure that fell for the second day in a row (Monday marked a peak of 7,827), but remains within the highest levels in the entire pandemic.
With these data, Argentina remains the
ninth country
with the highest number of infected people detected since the beginning of the health crisis.
In Argentina, more than 14.8 million swabs were made since the beginning of the pandemic, with a high rate of positivity.

In addition, after exceeding 82 thousand deaths, it is ranked
12th
among the nations with the most fatalities as a result of covid-19.
The second wave

with the highest number of
new infections
in the world.

The two countries that exceed that rate - and by far - are India and Brazil.
In fourth place is Colombia, followed by the United States.
When looking at the incidence with respect to the population, the country is
fifth
globally, with
605 infected daily per million inhabitants
.
The four that exceed it (Seychelles, Uruguay, Maldives and Bahrain) have less than 4 million inhabitants, so their rates soared more before the new outbreak.

with the most fatal cases per day with an average of

(taking the data from the last week), which represents a new record.
It is only surpassed by India and Brazil.
Vaccines
Marcelo Figueiras, the president of the Richmond laboratory, confirmed that this Thursday the production of the Sputnik V vaccine will begin in Argentina. In this first stage, the active principle that was brought from Russia on Tuesday will be packaged.

Initially, the Argentine laboratory will have a production of 500 thousand weekly doses, although the goal is for it to be 5 million per month.
