Facebook could launch its first smartwatch by the summer of next year.
This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the company, who spoke about it with The Verge website.
Unlike the existing connected watches, Facebook's project includes some peculiarities.
Starting from the presence of two cameras and the possibility of detaching the dial from the strap for use in photographic and video shooting mode.
Facebook has already contacted specialized companies for the creation of accessories to which the dial can be attached, such as small tripods, helmets and backpacks, in order to simulate the current use of a GoPro.
The will of Facebook would be to put the smartwatch as an alternative method for the production of content to be posted online, not necessarily having to use a smartphone.
To make things even easier, the gadget will be equipped with an LTE connection, to be activated via eSim, as well as pairing with your mobile phone, to send and receive data from the network.
Furthermore, again as reported by The Verge, there will be a heart rate monitor, for tracking physical activity.
The Facebook Watch could be used in the future as a controller of the smart glasses that Facebook is working on using the partnership of Essilor-Luxottica. In the past, Facebook had attempted the rise in the smartphone market, in partnership with HTC, without success.
