No controversy, organic farming immediately needs a law that enhances it and guides the sector, which pushes research, training and the control system. According to Aiab, AssoBio and FederBio, the rise of a part of the scientific world on the equation of organic with biodynamic, "has little reason to have been in European standards for 30 years". The associations of agriculture and organic and biodynamic production launch an appeal to quickly approve the bill, which, after the green light from the Senate last May 20, is now returning to the House. The risk, they explain, is that of losing the resources of the Farm to Fork and the European Action Plan dedicated "to this certified sustainable agriculture".
"Organic agriculture has been regulated and certified in the European Union for 30 years now, as has biodynamic agriculture", the associations say, so much so that "the regulations recognize agronomic practices and biodynamic preparations", submitted also to the mandatory certification system. And it is for this reason, they specify, that biodynamic products carry the European organic logo. "Organic and biodynamic products are obtained on the basis of transparent regulations and subjected to checks and certification by bodies accredited, authorized and supervised by national public authorities - reads the document - as is not the case for most of conventional agriculture and of food products also consumed in Italy ". In reality,conclude the associations, biodynamics "in the bill has been included precisely because it is already certified organic. The same biodynamic preparations, described as esoteric practices, are actually technical means registered in the list of products allowed for organic by the EU Regulations and duly authorized to trade by the ministerial decrees in force in our country ".
