Is there still room for a new format in the colorful world of cooking programs?
The ZDF now sends Jan Böhmermann to the stove.
In the new show »Böhmi sizzles«, which is currently being produced in Cologne, Jan Böhmermann receives a guest from pop culture, science or journalism.
It should be broadcast from the end of July.
In his podcast “Fest und Fluschig”, Jan Böhmermann said he saw himself in the tradition of Alfred Biolek in his program “Alfredissimo”: “Come in, clear your throat, I'll pop two Kölsch in the first minute.” He wanted to get to know people while cooking who otherwise wouldn't be on his programs, maybe because they didn't want to argue with him. "I wanted to do something completely apolitical, something where I don't have to strain my head," said Böhmermann to his podcast partner Olli Schulz. "The great thing is, you don't have to talk about content, it's about things that connect - namely food."
Star chefs are not there, and he will only ask guests with a migrant background to come to the pots, because then "food is loaded with real meaning".
He wants to approach cooking culturally.
His guests should create their own recipes, and he himself will always cook a rather German dish at the same time: "I am very pork-based".
ZDF has announced six episodes, guests are presenter Aminata Belli, dancer Motsi Mabuse, science journalist and ZDF presenter Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim, star pianist Igor Levit, entertainer Riccardo Simonetti and rapper and music producer Xatar.
