The videos of the "Real Life Guys" on YouTube are viewed millions of times.

Now one of the two twin brothers, Philipp Mickenbecker, has died.

The 23-year-old from near Darmstadt suffered from a serious tumor disease.

Most recently, as Brother Johannes says in a video, Philipp had severe bleeding, from which he finally died on June 9th in the hospital.

“We were all with him.

He has often had severe pain in the last few weeks and we are sure that he is now in a better place, «it says on the joint channel» Life Lion «.

And: “Yesterday Jesus held his hand over us.

We are incredibly grateful to have had such an incredibly great friend and are grateful for every moment that we have been able to experience with him in recent years.

Philipp Mickenbecker had made his tumor disease public in 2020 and repeatedly talked about his fight against lymph gland cancer.

He had already received the diagnosis as a teenager, after several therapies the disease returned.

Farewell in the hospital

Philipp Mickenbecker finally refused any further chemotherapy, saying that he would rather die than take "this poison" again.

A few years ago, the two-year-old sister of the two twin brothers, Elli, died in an ultralight plane crash.

She was 18 years old.

Johannes Mickenbecker and his friends used the last minutes in the life of the now deceased brother to say goodbye to him.

"Especially on the last day he died, he said everything is okay, he's at peace with it and we shouldn't try to do anything else," the 23-year-old says in the video.

He had had breakfast with him that morning, but then blood leaked on the side of his bandage.

Rescue workers finally picked him up, Johannes Mickenbecker and the relatives drove afterwards and stayed with Philipp Mickenbecker in the hospital until the end.

"We are incredibly grateful to have had such an incredibly great friend and are grateful for every moment that we have been able to experience with him over the past few years," write relatives on Instagram.

They close the memory of Mickenbecker, who was a thoroughly believer, with the Bible verse Isaiah 40:31: "All who put their hope in the Lord get new strength, that they soar with wings like eagles."
