(ANSA) - LA VALLETTA, 11 JUN - New initiative of the Malta government to encourage the resumption of tourism after the pandemic: tourists over 65 who in the next low season, i.e. from the beginning of autumn and throughout the winter, will book a Malta will receive 100 euros as a gift in the form of a divoucher that can be spent in shops and businesses in the archipelago. Lamisura was announced by the tourism minister, ClaytonBartolo, as part of a 20 million euro package funded by the government in favor of the sector most penalized by Covid.


    The initiative in favor of the over 65s in the low season is to be added to the reimbursements to tourists of any age already in force (from 100 to 200 euros for stays longer than three days booked in hotels of three stars and up) and to the incentives for event organizers with a sporting or cultural background that attract visitors from abroad.
