The city of Strasbourg announced on Friday the cancellation of the events it had scheduled for the Fête de la Musique.
At issue: the constraints of the sanitary protocol provided by the Ministry of Culture.
“Following the sending by the government of the health and safety protocol relating to the 2021 edition of the Fête de la Musique, the City of Strasbourg is unfortunately forced to cancel the events scheduled this year (strolls, concerts of music schools , floating scene ...) ”
, indicated the ecological municipality in a press release.

The Ministry of Culture presented Tuesday the health protocol of the Fête de la Musique which provides for a seated audience for shows, the ban on concerts in the streets, bars and restaurants and the obligation to present a mandatory health pass in places hosting more than 1000 people.
In addition, there are no exceptions to the curfew currently set at 11 p.m.

"Even if we understand that the health situation is still fragile, we regret this late announcement"
, declared the mayor Jeanne Barseghian, with
"a particular thought for the amateur projects"
. In the Grand Est region, Munster (Haut-Rhin) and Forbach (Moselle) have also decided to cancel the 2021 edition of the Fête de la Musique.
