Since their reopening on May 19, and until the end of June, cultural establishments have not been full. Many slots available,

Museums and castles reopened on May 19 with a gauge set to respect eight square meters per person.

Since June 9, the third stage of progressive deconfinement, this gauge has increased to four square meters, allowing establishments to welcome more visitors.

However, many slots remain available.

In order to limit crowds, most museums require prior online reservation.

Of the 29 castles and museums we have selected, 26 of them still have slots available.

Many places available despite the gauges

To visit Mona Lisa at the Louvre, contemplate the works of the Marmottan Monet museum or fly to the Air and Space Museum at Le Bourget, you just have to wait between one and three hours.

A sudden desire to observe the Origin of the world at the Musée d'Orsay, to taste a Bordeaux wine at the Cité du Vin or to stroll in the Palace of Versailles?

No problem: it is possible to book within the hour.

Be careful, however, the visiting slots leave faster at the end of the week.

The Carnavalet museum, which has reopened after four years of work is going full blast this Friday, June 11, as well as the weekend of June 12 to 13.

The same goes for the Musée de l'Orangerie where Claude Monet's water lilies and the “Magritte / Renoir.

Surrealism in the sun ”seems to attract visitors: three slots are already full on Monday, June 14.

The places to admire the exhibition "Signac, the colored harmonies" of the Jacquemart-André museum are also leaving quickly.

Only 20 people are authorized per slot.

Ideal conditions for enjoying museums

No more queues and jostling to make your way to the works.

"We only waited two minutes before being able to watch the Mona Lisa", rejoices Mathilde Barxell, a biotechnology student in Rouen.

Having come to spend a few days in Paris with her friend Maud, who recently moved to the capital, the 23-year-old young woman took advantage of these privileged visiting conditions to discover the Louvres, the Palace of Versailles and the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution for the first time.

The nine million visitors registered at the Louvre in 2019 are a long way off.

Maud had already visited these monuments when she was younger.

For her, the difference is obvious: “With fewer people, we enjoy the moment and the works much more, we take the time we want.

It's very nice !

"

From June 30, this parenthesis will end.

The gauge limits will be lifted.

The reopening of the French borders since June 9, should also allow the return of foreign tourists.

In 2019, they represented two thirds of visitors to the Louvres.

A real breath of fresh air for cultural establishments.
