Using the artificial intelligence applied to photos, it transforms any type of selfie into a Disney-style cartoon.

Better known as 'Voilà AI Artist Cartoon Photo', the software was created by the company Wemagine.AI, with the desire to allow everyone to step into the shoes of a Disney Pixar character, for free.

Once the image is obtained, it can be posted on social media or used as an avatar on many platforms. There are limitations: the app no longer allows faces for rendering, such as a couple photo, and does not recognize animal photos. A few days after publication, there are over 30,000 reviews on Google Play and Voilà has jumped into the Top 20 in the "Photos and Videos" section on the App Store.

But as has already happened for similar apps, such as FaceApp which transforms people's faces through AI, even in the case of Voilà some doubts about privacy have emerged. The app prompts users to upload a selfie or portrait, so that the face is detected by the algorithm and transformed into a selection of four different animated renders. According to an analysis of the terms of use, carried out by the security company Kaspersky, a clause states that the photos used in the app become the property of the company, which may also use them for other purposes. However, Kaspersky itself has stated that, to date, Voilà is reliable because it does not show suspicious behavior in sending information to third-party servers.
