Goodbye late payments from public administrations.

According to the Mef data, published on the ministry's website, the weighted average time to pay the bills for 2020 was 45 days, 3 days before the deadline.

In light of the data from the information system of the Commercial Credit Platform (PCC) recorded in May 2021, the invoices received by the PA in 2020 amounted to 27.9 million, for a total amount due of 152.7 billion.

Invoices paid amounted to 24.7 million, equal to 142.7 billion euros, which corresponds to approximately 95.9% of the total amount.

The payment times of the invoices issued in 2020, underlines the Ministry of Economy, confirm the decreasing trend of the previous five-year period, in which the average payment time had gone from 74 days in 2015 to 48 in 2019. Correspondingly, the average time of delay was reduced from 27 days in 2015 to 1 day in 2019. The trend is generalized and affects the various sectors of the PA. Among these, the Bodies of the National Health Service and the sector of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces recorded the best performances, both for the improvements achieved in the three-year period of observation (2018-2020) and for the degree of timeliness in payments reached at the end of period. In fact, in 2020, the average payment times of the two sectors show, respectively, an advance of 15 and 10 days, with reductions in payment times of 12 and 10 days compared to 2018. Correspondingly, the average payment times went from 57 and 41 days in 2018 to 45 and 31 days in 2020 respectively.
