(ANSA) - LIMA, June 12 - Keiko Fujimori, candidate of 'Fuerzapopular' in the presidential ballot in Peru, argued yesterday in Lima that "Peru has become the epicenter of a confrontation between communism and a free economy. and freedom of expression ".

Explaining in a conference with the international press the reasons for the appeals submitted to electoral justice for alleged "seat fraud" committed by supporters of his sister Pedro Castillo of 'Perú Libre', Fujimori stressed that his ongoing tough confrontation "is not only with Castillo, but with the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party 'Perú Libre' ".

Destiny wanted, he continued, that "the fujimorism that blocked Sendero Bright 30 years ago, today represents all Peruvians in an attempt to prevent Peru from converting to a Venezuela".

The daughter of former president Alberto Fujimori then assured that "it is not about me, but about the fact that Peru is strategically and politically fundamental in Americalatina, and therefore we are witnessing this attempt by the international left to force a change in the popular will".

"I have been in prison three times - she later recalled - for over 16 months, away from my family. And this very difficult experience gave me the strength to tell the radical left and the Marxist-Leninist party 'Perú Libre' that we will hear our voice and that what we want is that the popular will be respected ".

After having taken note of the results of the ballot organized by the National Office of Electorate Processes (Onpe) which assigned the presidency to Castillo, the 'Fuerza popular' party announced the presentation of 802 applications for the annulment of the votes of as many seats. But in the end, the National Electoral Court (JNE) would have accepted, according to the Peruvian media only about 200.

According to the Onpe, Castillo would have obtained 8,830,647 votes (50.145%) and the right rival Keiko Fujimori 8,779,709 (49,855%), with a difference of 50,938 votes. (HANDLE).
