Digital vaccination pass: in pharmacies from Monday - this is how you can find the right branch

Anyone who has already received their corona vaccination can subsequently get their digital vaccination certificate from the pharmacy.

But not all branches offer the service.

Berlin - “More freedom, more normality” announced Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn last Thursday (June 10th) in Berlin. At the press conference on the “CovPass” he happily held up a smartphone and presented the new, digital vaccination pass with RKI boss Lothar Wieler and IBM project manager Ronald Fritz. In addition to vaccination centers and medical practices, Spahn named pharmacies as the third point of contact for the passport.

Vaccinated persons can later pick up their QR code here.

But that doesn't work entirely without restrictions.

"Please do not all go to the pharmacy on Monday!" Warned Spahn.

According to Thomas Dittrich, chairman of the German Pharmacists' Association (DAV), the number of pharmacies that make the offer will probably still be limited in the first few days.

"But we are assuming that the number of pharmacies will very quickly be in the four-digit range."

Digital vaccination pass in pharmacies: How does it work - and who is actually authorized?

An online portal can be used to find out which pharmacy is already involved in the area.

The participating branches register and can call up the certificates via a central server.

Anyone who subsequently wants a digital vaccination certificate for the CovPass app and has been vaccinated in a vaccination center will probably also receive their QR code by post.

You may then be able to save yourself going to the pharmacy.

Otherwise, the second corona vaccination should have been more than 14 days ago and the vaccinated person should be able to identify themselves.

In general, however, the use of a digital vaccination certificate remains voluntary.

If you want, you can continue to use the classic, yellow paper vaccination booklet.
