(ANSA) - WINDSOR, June 13 - Welcomed by the guard of honor and then by a traditional cup of tea. Queen Elizabeth II today received US President Joe Biden at Windsor Castle at the end of the G7 Summit.
In a floral dress and pink hat, the 95-year-old sovereign, along with Biden and his wife Jill, witnessed a parade of guards of honor - in red uniforms and black bear hats - in the courtyard of the residence where the queen has withdrawn since the beginning of the pandemic.
Under a radiant sun, Elizabeth II with her guests across the Channel listened to the British and American anthems, and then the three entered the castle to have a cup of tea before Biden leaves for Brussels, where he will attend a NATO summit on Monday.
Except for Lyndon B. Johnson, the Queen met with all the presidents of the United States in her 69 years of reign. (HANDLE).
