This week, Benjamin Netanyahu was supposed to celebrate the half-jubilee of his first entry into the Prime Minister's Office.

Instead, he will leave the high office in Israel, after a dozen consecutive years of single rule.

The achievements and failures are recorded exclusively in his name.

I knew Netanyahu personally well at the height of his political career - after his loss to Ehud Barak, after Ariel Sharon founded Kadima and Netanyahu was a defeated opposition leader who heads a party with a dozen seats.

He then wanted to internalize and understand where he was wrong.

Do mental arithmetic.

Hear the other side.

To play.

To be open to the opinions of non-Yes-men around him.

To show that he is not as demonic as the image that has taken root among the academic and journalistic elite, who have accused him of incitement that led to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin.

Netanyahu approached me through the journalist Hanoch Daum and asked that my wife and I open our homes to a series of closed evenings to which senior Israeli journalists, newspaper editors and news studios, heads of economy, government and economy, successful and famous artists and creators in Israel, super tycoons - belonging to the Israeli Their negativity regarding Netanyahu's man.

Netanyahu was and remains "Yoni's brother", the myth of his life and death, the commander of the revered General Staff patrol, the salt of the earth, the beautiful bloody and the title, the man felt that women worshiped him and men adored.

A tremendous hunger for success and applause

Netanyahu was and remains "the son of Professor Ben Zion", a scientist and academic, a world leader in his field who did not receive tenure from the Hebrew University because "without freedom and MKI" by Mapai and Ben-Gurion ruled the elite of academia.

Netanyahu's advantages are also his disadvantages

Deficits create a drive. Failure is not an option and failure is like death. I did not meet a person who must and wants to be a prime minister like Netanyahu, until I knew Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett personally. Would he listen to me? I doubt. It will be very difficult for him to leave Balfour and the Prime Minister's Office and he will try to reinvent himself.

Netanyahu needs to understand that a head of state who has been in power for a dozen years and isolated from the people under heavy security, is losing an objective perspective. In his suspicion and loneliness he will listen to the advice of Ahithophel (of his family and close advisers) and personally hurt smart people who may (in the opinion of these advisers) pose a threat to him and find it difficult to disagree with the government. Will Netanyahu be Japanese and understand at his age, who is close to heroism, what he did wrong? God has the solutions. Will he let go and get some rest? Time will tell.

I am confident that at the moment he is not mentally shattered as one might mistake.

I am sure that Netanyahu truly and sincerely believes that he has been horribly wronged by people and the public is forced to do good.

He felt like his revered father who had been exiled from his natural place and had become a scoundrel.

This defense mechanism helps him greatly to cope and survive and unites him more than ever with his wife Sarah and children.

They feel "we are in front of the whole left" and only together can we and them win.

I'm sure they've motivated as if time has stopped reigning for 25 years.

The hatred in front of them unites them and gives them superpowers, and apparently Netanyahu did not say the last public word.
