Weekend of total opening: people in the streets, shops open and almost no control in the AMBA

It seemed like two pre-pandemic days, despite the fact that the presidential decree that extends the scenario of the last days was in force.

Despite the fact that the restrictions in force due to the pandemic were extended on Thursday from a new presidential decree, people took to the streets as if they did not exist. He actually advanced on the limitations, as if expressing that there is no longer tolerance for more and more confinement. That was seen in the AMBA sector this weekend, on each side of the Riachuelo and General Paz: squares and parks full of people, normally open businesses and much more circulation of cars and outdoor activities.

Controls practically null.

The Government announced the restrictions by Covid that began to apply last Saturday with the publication of a new presidential DNU.

As announced by the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti,

the current DNU was extended until Friday, June 25.

In epidemiological terms almost nothing changed.

But citizens made their own interpretation of the norm.

On Saturday morning, some oil cans abandoned on the road of the Pueyrredón bridge were the only indication that the march should be slowed down.

But nobody did.

Total fluidity, as in any other day.

And no prefect, as was customary, controlling the entrance to the City or the exit to the South of the Suburban area.

.

Pavón Avenue, a true artery of concentration of commerce

and the middle class, seemed like a mid-morning pilgrimage, with all the shops open, with people inside and outside, with no greater precautions than the chinstrap and little social distance.

Bus stops crowded, queues at sports outlets.

Crowded bakeries.

And many bars with people inside, even overcrowded.

The photo was repeated in all the towns: Temperley, Adrogué, Burzaco, Lomas de Zamora, Avellaneda, Lanús.

An example: in a community market in Avellaneda there were no direct entry controls, people and more people choosing their vegetables with their carts, many of them older adults, mostly vaccinated.

.

Something similar in the north.

Saturday and Sunday of full parks.

And bars also packed.

It was a recreational respite for the general public and a rebound for the much-needed business economy.

But a question arises and it consists of knowing if they will be able to keep contagions at bay so as not to regress again with this level of openness.

.

"It is going to be renewed with an epidemiological risk perspective,"

Vizzotti commented on Friday during an event.

The areas in a situation of epidemiological and health alarm are those in which the number of confirmed cases accumulated in the last 14 days is equal to or greater than 500 per 100,000 inhabitants or the percentage of occupancy of intensive care beds

is greater than 80% .

In the city, shops opened more freely and people gave little importance to the presidential decree, perhaps based on the words of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, who made even more progress with the openings and promised the return of the cinema for next weekend and theater.

"We have to work. We cannot continue like this.

We have to take advantage of everything we can to recover everything we lost this year and a half," the owner of a Villa Urquiza restaurant commented softly.

In a tour that

made

on Saturday night, it was seen how many people were still gathered in large numbers in squares and parks after the allowed time, 23 o'clock. "Here we are taking all the corresponding care.

We get together in the open air and We are all wearing chinstraps all the time.

What happens is that we need to do. Especially for the boys, who are the ones who most need to be related to their friends, "said Mariana, Gastón and Julieta's mother, while they

played with other friends in a square in Saavedra.

People seem, perhaps exhausted from so much quarantine, they seem already inclined not to respect the new restrictions.

"Look, the cases are falling in the City.

I already had covid and I have antibodies. I take care of myself, watch out. But they have to speed up the vaccination. You can't live any longer with all these restrictions. People can't take it anymore," he added Santiago, when he was about to have a coffee in Villa Pueyrredón.

At the end of this note, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Sunday, June 13, that, in the last 24 hours, 268 deaths and 13,043 new coronavirus infections were registered.

With these data,

the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 4,124,190 and the fatalities are 85,343.

On the other hand, the Strategic Vaccination Plan that the national government carries out against Covid-19 has already complied with the immunization of the first dose in 28.63 percent of the total population, a percentage that represents 12,991,480 people vaccinated in the 24 jurisdictions since last December, out of a universe of 45,376,763 inhabitants of the country, according to the INDEC registry in 2020.

On the other hand, in the framework of the strong acceleration of the vaccination plan,

tomorrow 934,200 doses of AstraZeneca will arrive at the Ezeiza Airport from the United States

.

They will be added to the 811,000 that arrived this Sunday on an Aeroméxico flight, which was received at the international terminal by the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, so that Argentina will reach a total of 20,677,145 vaccines received this Monday.
