Ardea massacre: killer was subjected to 'psychiatric consultation'

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 14 - Andrea Pignani was subjected to "psychiatric consultation" for a "state of psychomotor agitation" on 11 May at the Emergency Department of the Nuovo Ospedale dei Castelli in Ariccia (RM).

   This is what emerged from the investigations of the Carabinieri and the Prosecutor's Office of Velletri. In hospital Pignani was accompanied "voluntarily" by an ambulance after a quarrel with his mother.

   However, Pignani was not being treated "for pathologies of a psychiatric nature". (HANDLE).
