In a high-rise fire in Bremen, 22 residents and two fire fighters were injured.
The fire brigade was on site with around a hundred emergency services.
There is still no information about the cause of the fire, as a spokeswoman for the Bremen police said.
The investigation was ongoing.
The fire broke out late on Sunday morning in a house in Bremen's Gartenstadt-Süd.
As the fire brigade announced, it ate its way from a balcony on the ground floor over the facade to the roof.
Three apartments are initially uninhabitable, the injured suffered smoke poisoning.
The two injured firefighters were injured while rescuing a cat from the building - the animal bit both of their rescuers.
