The hair is gelled back, the leather jacket is flapping against the shoulders, the guitar still looks a bit too big: Ed Sheeran, for example, was 15 years old at a performance of the musical "Grease" at his school.
Recordings of his performance in the role of Roger will soon be auctioned.
On June 29th they will go under the hammer at the London auction house Omega Auctions.
The DVD contains two hours of material.
Auction organizer Paul Fairweather told Sky News, "The footage is great to watch and we definitely think it offers clues to Ed's star potential." Sheeran is now 30 years old.
It is difficult to assess this, however, Sheeran's teammates are at least as passionate about their roles as the later pop star himself. The performance can be admired free of charge in a cut best-of on the Internet, which the auction house published on YouTube.
A few months ago a picture by Sheeran had already been auctioned for 40,000 British pounds (the equivalent of around 44,000 euros).
The money raised goes to a playground that caters to the needs of disabled children.
On June 25th, Ed Sheeran released his first single in four years.
It is entitled »Bad Habits«.
