The average electricity price * for a household with an annual electricity consumption of 4,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) has risen slightly since the beginning of the year.
In January 2021 it was 1,171 euros, in June it was 1,197 euros.
This corresponds to an increase of almost 2 percent and annual additional costs of 26 euros.
Electricity prices in an upward trend
The rise in the electricity price level is mainly due to prices outside the local basic supply. Because since January 2021, increases and decreases have been roughly balanced: A total of 132 basic providers have announced or have already implemented price increases averaging 3 percent. Verivox: Gas prices have risen significantly
Heating with gas has become significantly more expensive.
The average gas price for a single-family house with a gas consumption of 20,000 kWh has risen by around 5 percent since January 2021.
