Mattarella, thanks to the commitment of the prison police

It is a matter of guaranteeing order, guaranteeing the safety of prisoners, in difficult moving conditions, with a lot of suffering and acute difficulties this year and more of a health emergency in an environment, inevitably at risk, which has seen the courage and self-denial of the staff ". This was stated by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella when he received the head of the Prison Administration Department, Bernardo Petralia, at the Quirinale, with a representation of members of the Penitentiary Police Corps, on the occasion of the 204th anniversary of the foundation. This commitment, explained Mattarella, "is accompanied by the awareness of the re-educational purpose of the sentence,according to what the Constitution says. It is a demanding job, of great delicacy, which also allows many inmates, given the penalty, to find a better life prospect that conforms to the values ​​of the Constitution and legality ". (ANSA).
