It is unclear whether there is a connection between the crashes: In the Swiss canton of Graubünden, another wreck was discovered when a crashed glider was recovered.

A powered airplane and a glider have crashed within just one kilometer.

The two pilots and three passengers in the motorized aircraft were killed, as the canton police announced.

According to the information, the glider pilot had crashed on Saturday above Bivio at about 2700 meters.

The Swiss Air Rescue Foundation had informed them, including that the pilot had died.

Due to bad weather, the rescue could only take place on Sunday.

The rescue workers found the second wreck not far from the glider pilot's crash site.

The motorized plane took off from Samedan in Graubünden after 5 p.m. and its destination was Locarno in Ticino.
