There was an accident on the A21 in Schleswig-Holstein in the morning.
A truck overturned, causing its load - around 20 tons of chicken eggs - to be spread across the road.
As local media reported, the accident occurred in the direction of Kiel, near Wankendorf in the Plön district.
According to the NDR, it is still unclear why the truck overturned.
The driver was therefore slightly injured.
Heavy equipment had to be brought to the accident site for the rescue and clean-up work, it said.
A heavy-duty crane is required to lift the truck.
Long lockdown
Afterwards, the roadway also had to be cleaned, reported the »Schleswig-Holsteinische Zeitungsverlag« - after all, the truck had loaded around 200,000 eggs.
The police expect that the highway will remain completely closed until Monday afternoon.
The traffic is diverted.
