Vaccination against Covid-19 for adolescents aged 12 to 17 will start this Tuesday in France.
Parental authorization will be required for any vaccination of this age group.
The Ministry of Health posted it on their website for download, print and fill.
You can read it here.
Please note, this parental authorization does not exempt from the presence of at least one parent during the vaccination.
The oral consent of the adolescent, at the time of vaccination, also remains necessary: a young person cannot therefore theoretically be constrained by his parents.
As part of the vaccination against Covid-19, the authorization of both parents is mandatory.
"In the presence of a single parent at the time of vaccination, the latter undertakes on honor that the parent co-holder of parental authority has given his authorization", however specifies the Ministry of Health.
The Pfizer vaccine to get started
So far, only the Pfizer vaccine has been validated for use in adolescents.
Like adults, they will need to have two doses (unless they have been infected with Covid-19, they will have only one).
Moderna, the other messenger RNA vaccine, could also be injected into the arms of adolescents in the coming weeks, the laboratory having made a request in this direction.
