Until July 5, the inhabitants of Toulouse Métropole can give their opinion during the public consultation on the future Zone

This is the last step before its entry into force in September 2021, after a little delay since it was due to see the light of day at the end of 2020. Until July 5, residents can give their opinion on the future Low Emissions Zone - mobility (ZFE) in the metropolis of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) during the public consultation.

Imposed by law on large cities experiencing episodes of pollution, this project aims to gradually ban the most polluting vehicles from a well-defined area of 72 km2.

"The perimeter includes Toulouse within the ring road and a small part of Colomiers and Tournefeuille, the west of Toulouse with the aeronautics center," underlines François Chollet, in charge of Ecology, sustainable development and energy transition at Toulouse Metropolis.

It is a health issue that will allow more than 420,000 people to have better air quality.

The driving ban for the vehicles concerned will be valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The idea is not to take people by the throat by setting them binding standards but to leverage and support them in the transition ”.

The refractories will be controlled by a camera system, with a fine of 68 euros in the event of non-compliance and 135 euros for heavy goods vehicles.
