(ANSA) - LONDON, JUN 15 - Trade agreement signed between the United Kingdom and Australia for a bilateral free trade treaty: the first of this magnitude after Brexit.
The agreement, already announced, was formalized this morning by Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Scott Morrison, who met in London.
For the Johnson government this is an important event, just over six months after the definitive entry into force of the divorce from Brussels following the end of the transition phase.
Some UK farmers 'and ranchers' organizations have raised concerns in recent weeks - on the sidelines of the conclusion of the technical negotiations already announced last month - about the risk of a few too many concessions from the Johnson government on the ground of quality standards of various products; as well as the prospect of potential openings. the import into the Kingdom of food grown extensively in Australia at excessively low cost.
