Today (Tuesday) the masks are removed in Israel, which for many symbolizes the end of the corona days.

However, the corona virus is still here, even if it has changed its face.

According to British researchers, the common symptoms of corona have changed, and now headaches, sore throats and runny noses are the most common symptoms in covid-19 patients.

Professor Tim Spector, who runs the Zoe COVID research app that tracks corona symptoms, told the BBC that the current variant of corona in the UK feels "more like a severe cold" for young people.

Although the new symptoms refer only to the variant common in the UK, now that the sky has opened up and the masks have gone down - here too it is worth being aware of the changing symptoms.

Although the symptoms are relatively mild, those infected with corona can be contagious and endanger others.

Therefore, anyone who thinks they may have been infected with the virus must undergo a corona test.

According to the NHS (UK National Health Service) the "classic" symptoms that should light a red light for corona are still cough, fever and loss of sense of taste or smell.

But Prof Spector says these symptoms are less common today, based on data obtained by the Zoe COVID team from thousands of people who reported their symptoms on the app.

"We are looking at the leading symptoms in app users, and since the beginning of May they are not the same as they used to be," he says.

The change appears to be related to an increase in the version of the virus known as Delta, which was first identified in India and now accounts for 90 per cent of corona cases in the UK.

"Fever remains quite common, but odor loss no longer appears in the first ten symptoms," he added.

It should be noted that a study by the Imperial College London, conducted on more than a million people in the UK, also found a wide range of other corona-related symptoms, including chills, loss of appetite, headaches and muscle aches.

"This variant seems to work a little differently," said Prof Spector.

According to him, people may think they have caught some seasonal cold and go on with their lives, thus transmitting the virus to other people.

Therefore, he clarifies, if you do not feel well - stay home and do a corona test.

In recent days, there has been an increase in the number of corona cases in the UK, and according to Prof. Spector, this increase is seen among young and unvaccinated people, with most cases under the age of 40, and especially between the ages of 20-29.

He added that the Delta version has an infection factor of 6 (one patient will infect another 6) - about twice as much as the previous version.
