(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 15 - A drill over 10 meters high crashed this morning from inside a construction site in Milan, crashing into the street and damaging the building in front.
The accident, which did not cause injuries but considerable damage, took place shortly after 10.40 in via Serio, in the Ripamonti area.
The machine is used for excavation works in the area and, for reasons still to be clarified, it collapsed against the Ifom building (Firc Institute of Molecular Oncology), damaging the ground floor and the first floor.
There were no injuries, not even among the workers present on site and, according to reports from the fire brigade technicians, there would be no risk of gas escaping.
The drill overwhelmed some cars parked in via Adamello, the road that divides the construction site from the Ifom.
Circulation is interrupted to allow removal of the structure, which will take several hours.
