The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, announced that the Federal Health Council agreed that pregnant women without risk factors will be included in the priority groups to receive the vaccine.

They must be done with a medical indication.

In addition, he anticipated that

a new shipment of Sputnik V from Russia

will arrive this week

, although the quantity or of which component has not yet been defined.

Until this morning

13,223,188 people

received at least one vaccine against covid-19 throughout Argentina.

This represents

29%

According to the data published in the Public Vaccination Monitor,

3,420,581

of those vaccinated also received the second dose with which the immunization

schedule

is completed.

The second wave

Due to the impact of the outbreak that began after Easter, Argentina is currently the fourth country with the highest number of new infections in the world, behind India, Brazil and Colombia.

In the week prior to today's report -between Tuesday 8 and Monday 14-, the average per day was

23,978

, an average that has been falling after the latest restrictions.

On May 23, it had peaked at 33,171.

Since then, it has

dropped by almost 28%

.

When looking at the incidence with respect to the population, the country is fifth globally, with

530 infected daily per million

inhabitants.

The four that exceed it (Seychelles, Uruguay, Maldives and Bahrain) have less than 4 million inhabitants, so their rates soared more before the new outbreak.

The death data are worrying since last week they have been at the highest levels of the pandemic.

In the week prior to today's report - between Tuesday 8 and Monday 14 -

4,089

were reported

;

that is, 583 per day.

The daily average of Argentine deaths is the third highest globally.

In this case, it is surpassed by India and Brazil, which are around 3,600 and 1,900, respectively.
