A 15-year-old boy drowned in Bremen, while the rescue operation was massively hindered by gawkers, according to police.
The teenager was no longer able to stay on the surface of the water in Achterdieksee on Monday, the police said.
Other bathers would have been looking for him.
A man finally discovered the youth, according to the information, divers from the fire department pulled him out of the water.
Attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful and the cause of the accident is being sought.
According to the police, around 150 to 200 onlookers blocked the way for the emergency services.
During the resuscitation, helpers and bathers initially shielded their eyes with towels and blankets.
Here, too, there were disabilities because gawkers took photos or filmed with their cell phones.
The police first had to put up privacy screens and cordon off the rescue center so that people could leave.
