Gyms reopen: what if women don't train for men at all?

2021-06-18T02:25:27.704Z

Are muscular women now conforming to the ideal of beauty? Great! Many women just do sports to feel good. Or to have more strength. Or against back pain. Not because of sexiness.

The gyms are opening again.

How nice!

At last you no longer have to jog in the park in the danger that some dodgy walking around wants to point out its stupid existence with clicking noises or sayings.

At last train of proper equipment and

there

comments listen to their own bodies.

Variety!

The other trainees are usually not the problem, because they are usually busy with themselves. The most insane comments often still come from the in-house staff, in any case I can no longer count on one hand the friends who said that they were asked during the admission interview in the gym how much they wanted to lose weight, even though they didn't want to lose weight, but just get fitter. There are also great trainers and health advisors, no question about it, but there are also those who think: Oh a woman, I will help her to shape her body according to the wishes of some imagined men! A friend of mine who had signed up for the gym had to be explained during the first workout: “You are a thin woman, trapped in the body of a fat woman!“A case for the criminal investigation department, if it were so.

Fitness check

Women and sports, it's still kind of a thing.

That's interesting, because there is a form of feminism that is halfway accepted in society, and that is: Hey, do your thing, hang in, you can do anything, don't listen to the idiots, just be the boss.

This could consistently include sport, but: It depends.

So far I've mostly had good experiences in the gym, but I'm also easily satisfied when there is a sauna somewhere.

At some point I had one of those fitness checks that you have there regularly if you want.

Diffuse interest on my part to know how many kilos of water and fat and other things my body consists of, why not.

The months before I had practiced fairly regularly, but you didn't really see it.

No overweight, no underweight, everything is healthy.

The trainer's comment was: "Yes, your muscle mass is in the very good range, you could do more now, but whether you want to - that's always a question with women when it gets too much."

Wink fat ??

Do they think I want to do pull-ups so that I can wave nicer?

Why "tight" arms, why not strong arms?

Why?

Too much for who

The fitness tips for women are full of messages like this: muscles, yes, but only in such a way that you can't see them because - you know.

A while ago I googled training tips for pull-ups and found the “Women's Health” training plan, including a “recommendation to everyone who wants taut arms: Here is our highly effective training plan against 'fat in the mouth'”.

The plan for arm training is then also: »Bye, Winkfett!« - Winkfett ??

Do they think I want to do pull-ups so that I can wave nicer?

Why "tight" arms, why not strong arms?

Muscles?

Help you lose weight

Even the tips that specifically focus on building muscle often contain the hint that muscle training is a very special thing for women. Quote »Women's Health«: »Women with muscles - many people still have an oiled bodybuilder cliché in mind. What a crap! Muscular female bodies can be super aesthetic. «- But what if it's not about aesthetics at all? A great many women do not do sport to be "super aesthetic" for someone, but simply to feel good. Or to have more strength. Or against back pain. But not because of sexiness.

The first point in the "Women's Health" muscle building article cited, why muscles are so great: "The great thing about muscles is that they help you lose weight." The second point: "Muscles make sexy curves." The magazine " wmn «is called» the lifestyle magazine for strong women «, but also asks:» When do women with muscles become 'creepy'? «When they have long, sharp teeth or a bloody ax in their hand, I would say. The magazine »myself« writes about the fear of women, »You could mutate into a muscleman in a very short time«. - I don't know a single woman who is afraid of gaining too much muscle through exercise, but I know some who have been told not to overdo it because men don't like it that much. And, of course, “myself” also says that building muscle has many advantages, right at the front:"Muscles make you slim."

- Yes cool.

But: what if my training goal is to be able to strangle an attacker with bare hands without sore muscles the next day?

You can't say that again, or what?

Fitness trend Hula Hoop

The current fitness trend, more among women, is hula hoop.

A training device for quite a few muscle groups, but the slogans for it are mainly »lose weight with a swing« (blog »fit in spite of family«), »lose weight in a sporty, dynamic way« (»hula-hoop-shop«) or »hull yourself a narrow waist "(" Gala ").

Of course you could say: It doesn't matter. You don't have to listen to the "slim and beautiful" group and you can just do everything cool. But you can also react in this way to any feminist criticism. Do women earn too little money? Find a better job and make real cash! Do women constantly have to hear stupid sayings about their appearance? Take a rhetoric course and show the men! Yeah, that's how Revolution works, LOL.

The thing with sport, which women should like to do, but please not too hard and always nice to lose weight, has its problems: First, the obvious. Everyone wants “strong women”, but when it comes to strength training, it is also directly about the fear that it could become “too much”. Because "strong women" is meant in a lifestyle and not physically. Strong women should just do their so-called thing without crying around, but not look like they can fuck you in a headlock or break your nose. And then there is, secondly, the other problem: Sport could simply be fun without being a means to an end (main purpose: sexyness) directly from the point of view of optimization. Without a sense of duty and ideas of ideal bodies and without the constant reminder thatthat being fat really doesn't have to be, even after a nerve-wracking pandemic, please don't go to the »Kilos-Weg-Camp« of »Mrs. Sporty «!

There are a lot of people for whom the topic of sport was disgusted by school sport: Sadistic sports teachers, complexes and stress in the locker room, smelly halls, being the last to be elected to the team, national youth games, everything at all - and on No time to shower and another two hours of math in a deodorant cloud from "Vanilla Kisses" and "Ax Alaska".

Very sensual.

Some people need years, if not decades, to realize at some point that sport does not have to be torture or competition, but can also be good.

But that's difficult when you try to move on the thin line of "healthy and lean, but not too many muscles."

Because we all know that doing so will scare men.

But hey - maybe that's what you want right now.

So what?
