There is no shortage of reasons to encrypt the Golan on these hot days - from the cooling springs, through picking cherries at its peak to artists like Fortisharoff who will perform there next week - but the purple lavender fields are in full swing these days and provide an experience that feels like a minimum in Provence.

Then the lavender blossom in the Golan began, and slowly the fields turned purple.

The visitor centers in Moshav Kanaf and the moshav on the south and north of the Golan (respectively) allow a visit to the fields, where you can get an explanation of the processes of growing lavender and producing various products made from it, and

everything - free of charge.
