A Madrid court sentenced a man to 15 years and six months in prison for killing his mother, dismembering her and eating parts of the body.
The "Cannibal of Ventas" was found guilty of manslaughter and desecration of corpses.
Albert SG got into an argument with his mother in January 2019 in the shared apartment in the Ventas district of Madrid.
According to the investigators, he strangled the woman and then dismembered her body with a saw and two kitchen knives.

According to the prosecution, he ate several body pieces in the weeks that followed while putting other body parts in plastic containers that he kept in his home and in the refrigerator.
He is also said to have fed his dog with body parts.
He disposed of some of his mother's remains in the trash.
The police arrested the man after a friend reported his mother missing.
His lawyer argued that his client, who the police said had drug problems, was incapable of guilt.
The court found, however, that the defendant was in full possession of his mental powers.
In addition to the prison sentence, the man was sentenced to pay his brother compensation for pain and suffering in the amount of 60,000 euros.
