Weather outlook in Germany: hot, hotter, Lausitz

Germany is facing the first heat wave of the year. Temperatures well over 30 degrees are possible. In some regions, however, there is also the threat of heavy rain, hail and squalls.

People in Germany have to be prepared for sweaty temperatures: the first heat wave of summer is imminent.

The German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach announced up to 37 degrees for the coming days.

Even at night, the values ​​can still be around 20 degrees.

At the same time, the risk of storms increases.

On Wednesday, the DWD expects a widespread 26 to 32 degrees, on the Moselle and the Upper Rhine 34 degrees are also possible.

The wind does not bring any cooling, it only blows weakly.

At night, the values ​​drop to 12 to 19 degrees, but a "partly tropical night" with temperatures of at least 20 degrees is announced for the Cologne Bay and the Ruhr area.

On Thursday it will be a tad hotter with 30 to 36 degrees.

Mighty cumulus clouds can form in the late afternoon.

Individual thunderstorms with a local risk of thunderstorms due to storms, hail and heavy rain are possible.

So it goes on Friday night in the west and northwest, the DWD warned of storms with heavy rain, hail and squalls.

In the metropolitan areas, however, it doesn't get cooler than 21 degrees.

On Friday there is still a risk of thunderstorms in the western half, in the evening it can also thunderstorm in the central parts of the country and the Alps, storms are also possible here.

Otherwise it is sunny, in the west it is also very humid with values ​​between 26 and 32 degrees.

For the rest of the republic, 31 to 37 degrees are announced, the hottest in Lusatia.
