Among its journalistic offerings, the two German titles "
Bild
" and "
Welt
" respectively claimed more than 540,000 and 157,000 digital subscribers last month.
Before the German parliamentary elections on September 26, “
Bild
” plans to launch his own television channel.

In the space of a decade, Axel Springer has drastically reduced its dependence on print and advertising by betting on the paid model on the internet very early on.
Now more than half of its revenue in the news media segment comes from digital business.

60% of Politico Europe (launched in 2015) revenues come from its digital subscriptions,
" the group said in a statement Tuesday.

We will continue to invest money and time to expand our existing paid content offering, and to be able to continue to operate independent journalism profitably in the future,
" explained Jean Bayer, in charge of national activities and international news media group.
He also specified that the group will launch new paid offers "
with other brands
" this year.
Axel Springer also owns numerous classifieds sites, particularly in the employment sectors, with StepStone Group, or real estate, with Seloger in France.
Main growth lever, these sites achieve the best performances of its portfolio.
In 2020, the German publisher left the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, after the purchase of 47.6% of its shares by the American fund KKR, which had thus become the main shareholder. Today, the heiress of the group, Friede Springer, and the boss of the group Mathias Döpfner each hold 22% of the capital.
