Coronavirus deaths rose again in Argentina: there were 648 deaths and 25,878 new infections were confirmed

In the midst of the development of the second wave of the pandemic, the Government confirmed this Wednesday

25,878 new cases

and another

648 deaths

from coronavirus in Argentina.

The data were published by the Ministry of Health this afternoon, based on the information provided by the provinces in the last 24 hours.

The figures accumulated since the beginning of the health crisis place Argentina as the

ninth country

with the

largest number of detected infected with

4,198,620

positive

.

Above are the United States, India, Brazil, France, Turkey, Russia, the United Kingdom and Italy.

Tests continue to detect new cases of coronavirus in the City.

At the national level, more than 15 million swabs have already been made.

The second wave


With these data, the current X-ray of the pandemic shows Argentina as the

with the highest number of

new infections

in the world, behind India, Brazil and Colombia.

When looking at the incidence with respect to the population, the country fell to

seventh place

- it was in fifth place for more than 10 days - with

518 infected daily per million inhabitants

Ahead are two countries in the region Uruguay (2nd) and Colombia (6th), in addition to Seychelles, Mongolia, Bahrain and the Maldives.

The death data are worrying since last week they have been at the highest levels of the pandemic.

globally, after being surpassed by Colombia, which now ranks fourth.

India and Brazil remain in the first two places.

Vaccines


After the last batch of AstraZeneca received on Monday, Argentina has a total of

vaccines received since the start of the immunization plan, in the last days of 2020. Of that total, 19,650,790 were distributed to the provinces and

Almost 30% of the population received at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine.
