A 38-year-old woman and her 40-year-old husband
died
of coronavirus in the city of Rawson, San Juan and
they were unable to meet their daughter
Martina, who is barely a month old.
Celina Rivas and Rodolfo Guevara have three more daughters apart from the newborn, Martina.
Tamara, 20, Juliana, 17, and Mía, 11, lost their parents after both were diagnosed with covid-19, and were left in the care of their paternal grandmother.
Tamara, the eldest daughter of the couple, who for almost ten years lived in General Cabrera, Córdoba province, told
ElDoce.tv
that her mother
was infected when she went to the hospital
for a medical checkup for her pregnancy.
A few days later, she began with symptoms compatible with the coronavirus and her husband also.
When Celina went to the emergency room to be treated for the contagion, she
broke her bag and gave birth to Martina
.
But due to the worsening of his condition, he could not meet the baby, since she was isolated in a common room.
A few days later, she was transferred to intensive care because she had
little oxygen in her blood and had to be intubated.
Rodolfo's situation worsened due to a picture of bilateral pneumonia.
In two days, the disease progressed and she died at home, in the arms of her eldest daughter.
Celina died on Sunday, not knowing what happened to her husband.
The couple never met Martina.
"We did not go out, we took care of ourselves a lot. My mother only went to do the shopping and work," said Tamara and criticized those who do not take care against the virus seriously: "They are not aware of what is happening and the truth is that it is serious. When you lose a person, it is very strong and I do not wish it to anyone, "he lamented.
Tamara studies accounting management and works part-time in a shoe store.
The family had a bar and their idea was to move all the supplies to their home and reactivate it.
Relatives and friends began a campaign of
financial aid
to the four sisters, who in addition to the loss of their parents must face a delicate economic situation.
