The Prime Minister, who has just come out of a seven-day isolation after having been in contact with his wife, alongside the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, announced an early lifting of the curfew.
"The health situation in our country is improving and it is improving faster than we had hoped", explained the head of government in particular to justify this "adaptation of the measures in place".
The curfew will be lifted on June 20, instead of June 30, as planned. This progress in lifting the curfew will allow the French in particular to take advantage of the Music Festival, scheduled for the next day. It is also question of the Euro football in this decision: France will face Portugal, next Wednesday, at 9 p.m., and as we saw Tuesday evening, it is complicated to enforce the curfew in these conditions. . In recent days, several voices had been raised to ask for the lifting of the curfew.
The health situation continues to improve in France.
France fell back on Tuesday under the bar of 2,000 Covid-19 patients in critical care, a first since mid-October, according to official figures.
Tuesday, during the last 24 hours, 300 people had been hospitalized because of the Covid, including 69 in the intensive care units.
In early April, these daily admissions peaked at values ten times higher (over 3,000 and over 600).
The number of new cases detected in 24 hours also continues to decline: it was on Tuesday of 3,235 against more than 15,000 a month ago.
