Due to a noise on the construction site, the harnessed horse mare »Jeannie« was frightened and kicked out to the side.

In the process, she damaged the passenger door of the patrol car.

Hiddensee is off Rügen to the west, the island is actually car-free.

According to the police, "traffic accidents involving vehicles are usually very rare." According to a spokeswoman, the police's electric car is the only patrol car on the island.

In addition, it is the only electric car in the area of ​​the Stralsund police station, which is also responsible for Hiddensee.

The car may have to be brought from the island

The police officer as well as the local driver and his horse were unharmed, the damage to the police car is estimated at least 500 euros, according to the police.

As the spokeswoman announced, the e-car may have to be brought from the island for repairs.

At the moment, however, it is still ready to drive despite the damage.
