Six cities from the federal state in the west line up at the top of the race for the cheapest ice cream.

At 1.03 euros per scoop, ice cream is the cheapest in Bielefeld, followed by Essen (1.10 euros) and Bochum (1.17 euros).

Ice cream prices are also low in Bonn, Dortmund and Essen: the scoop in a cup or in a waffle costs 1.23 euros each.

On the other hand, it gets expensive in the south: Munich ranks at the bottom of the ranking with a price of 2.10 euros per ice cream scoop.

For comparison:

in the national average, the ball costs 1.46 euros.

In Stuttgart and Berlin, ice cream lovers also have to dig deeper into their wallets at 1.87 euros per scoop.

In the major Saxon cities around Dresden and Leipzig, the price for the sweet cooling is similarly high (1.83 euros).

The density of ice cream parlors is greatest in Bochum, Dresden and Leipzig

15 ice cream parlors per 1,000 inhabitants

in the three cities of Bochum, Dresden and Leipzig - top value in comparison.

There is also a large selection in Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf and Bonn, each with 14 ice cream parlors per 1,000 residents.

There is less choice in the Ruhr area: Essen, with four ice cream parlors per 1,000 inhabitants, is lagging behind in last place.

In Berlin and Duisburg, the range can be expanded similarly (seven or eight ice cream parlors per 1,000 inhabitants).

Stuttgart is also in the lower ranks with nine ice cream parlors per 1,000 inhabitants.

In Munich and Hanover you also have to look longer for an ice cream parlor, with ten offers per 1,000 residents each.

The ice cream is particularly popular in Düsseldorf

Nowhere does the ice cream taste better than in Düsseldorf

: The state capital lands on the podium with a Google rating of 4.47 out of five possible points. Bielefeld ice cream, on the other hand, is not only cheap, but also popular: With an average rating of 4.46, the city shares second place with Munich (also 4.46). Leipzig is in fourth place with 4.45 out of five points. The top five complete Duisburg, Wuppertal and Münster with a rating of 4.43 each.

Dortmund scores slightly worse: With an average of 4.23 points, the city in the Ruhr area comes in last.

Even Frankfurt am Main cannot convince all visitors with its offer (4.27 points).

Cologne clearly loses the Rheinderby against Düsseldorf: With a rating of 4.32 out of five points, the cathedral city is third from the bottom.
