For the new animated feature film from Pixar studios, which have been owned by Disney since 2006, the production has decided to go for streaming only. "Luca" will therefore be launched under the same conditions as "Soul", deprived of theatrical release in 2020 due to the health crisis. This time, it is a choice of the studios and not an obligation. A preview screening will still take place at the Théâtre Bonlieu on Thursday, June 17, on the occasion of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. From June 18, only Disney + members will be able to watch "Luca". As a reminder, access to the streaming platform is available without commitment for 8.99 euros per month. You can also opt for the Disney + annual subscription at 89.90 euros.
Discover "Luca", a Disney + exclusive made by Pixar
The story of "Luca" takes place in Italy, in a small coastal town. The young boy has planned to spend a memorable summer with his best friend. Italian ice creams, pasta dishes, Vespa rides… Luca intends to take advantage of them since he is not used to experiencing this kind of thing. Indeed, under its human appearance hides in reality a sea creature, like those usually hunted by Man. If Luca and his companion want to continue having fun and getting to know Julia, their new earthly friend, they will have to hide their true identity. However, the latter has an unfortunate tendency to resurface when their skin is in contact with water. To discover this fun adventure on the theme of friendship, go to Disney + this Friday, June 18.
